Matrix Core (MC)

The Matrix Core is an unlimited, off-chain unit of account that is tied to upgrading your character and unlocking abilities. It is earned by picking it up in-game when enemies are killed, completing a level, or claiming daily rewards.

The main reason for having a currency that is not on-chain is due to the need of having the ability to reward Web2 users for progression. As the currency is not onchain, it can be dropped as loot easily and it does not provide a strong incentive for players to cheat by creating multiple bot accounts.
